ABOUT ATHKIA SUBAT
Athkia Subat has been awarded a fully-funded PhD studentship in Information Science at Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, Indiana University-Bloomington (IUB), USA. Additionally, she serves as an Associate Instructor and Summer Research Fellow at IUB. Athkia holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Chittagong in the session of 2017-2018 and a Master of Business Administration in Banking and Insurance in the session of 2021-2022. During her academic journey, she gained valuable experience in marketing and digital brand management at GD Assist Limited and CloudDefense.AI.
Athkia has been actively engaged in extracurricular activities since her freshman year. Notably, she served as president of the official student organization 'Banking Fellows for Leadership Development' during the 2022-2023 academic year and acted as the campus director for the on-campus round of the 'Hult Prize', the world's largest student start-up competition. She also led the student organizing panel of the '1st Jamal Nazrul Islam National Conference for Young Researchers 2022', jointly organized by Chittagong University Research and Higher Study Society and Jamal Nazrul Research Centre for Mathematical and Physical Sciences.
In recognition of her exceptional performance in the 'Learning and Earning Development Project' in 2021, Athkia was awarded a laptop from the ICT Division of Bangladesh. Furthermore, she represented Bangladesh at the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations Conference 2022 in New Delhi, India, organized by Harvard University.
In addition to her leadership roles, Athkia has collaborated on ten research projects and authored seven papers (Scopus, ABDC ranked) during her undergraduate studies. Her research interests encompass technology, communication, business, and finance, with a particular focus on addressing social aspects of technology and information asymmetry to benefit her communities.
